Colton was our Character Ed recipient for February! Way to go!! I can't believe that we are already half way through March. This time of year goes by quickly. Don't forget that the first week of April is Spring Break. SAGE will start May 9th and go through May 18th. We also have our 3rd grade program in May and our yearly trip to the Planetarium!! It will be a very busy few weeks leading up to the end of the year. So far in March, we celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday by having some special guests visit our classroom. We also discussed International Women's Day by reading about two amazing women, Harriet Tubman and Malala Yousafzai. Reading books about these women led to some wonderful discussions in our classroom. The school was also treated to a fascinating assembly where a concert pianist performed for our students and they learned about famous composers. Alistair's mom has been coming on Fridays to read the book The Witches to the class. This is one of my favorite books and I love seeing the excitement when she reads the story to them. We have been also working on our culture unit. The students have loved learning about other cultures and countries. Miss Ary brought in a very interesting book about Egypt to share with the class. They especially liked the part of the book about mummies!! Our class also started Junior Achievement. A big thanks to Dave (Marlie's dad) for taking this project on!! It has been busy, but fun! I can't wait for the rest of the month!! Ms. O Below are some pictures of all of our fun activities!! |
Ms. O I was born and raised in Utah. After I graduated from the University of Utah, I lived in California, Texas, Pennsylvania and Hawaii. I am happy to be back in Utah. I enjoy paddle boarding, cooking, hiking, skiing and running. I have two adorable kids who keep me pretty busy. I love Mexican food and coffee. This is my third year at Sunrise and I am so happy to be a part of the Sunrise community. Third grade is my favorite grade! Archives
