It is an exciting and busy time in our class. We are going to spend the short week working on narrative writing . We have had a lot of practice with narrative writing, but this will be the first narrative that we will publish. I can't wait to read what the kids come up with! If you want to know how I will be grading their narratives, you can refer to the rubrics that I gave you at parent/teacher conferences.
In math we will continue with multiplication and the distributive property. We will focus on 4, 6 and 7 as factors. I would like the kids to continue with their fact fluency by using Reflex Math at home and at school. For reading this week we will start reading I Wanna Iguana. However, because of our short week, we will not have a spelling, vocabulary or comprehension test. Our test for this story will take place on Tuesday, October 25th. Looking ahead: We will begin a geography unit starting on October 24th. The Pumpkin project is due on the 25th. Please let me know if you have any questions about this project. We also have Red Ribbon Week the week of the 24th-28th. Red Ribbon Week Daily Themes: - Monday the 24th “Voting For My Future To Be Drug Free” o Wear red, white, and blue clothing - Tuesday the 25th “Too Bright For Drugs” o Wear neon clothing and/or sunglasses - Wednesday the 26th “Your Choices Are Key To Your Dreams” o Wear pajamas - Thursday the 27th “From Head to Toe, I’m Drug Free” o Wear crazy hair and crazy socks - Friday the 28th “Our School is Drug Free” o Wear your school spirit wear We will have our Halloween parade on Monday, October 31st at 8:45am.
