Wow!! I know it has been awhile. January was a busy month. It was hard to keep up :) At the beginning of January, the students worked on their writing for "Seeing Stars." So the first thing we did was activate background knowledge by looking at the sky and making observations. I really loved the pictures that they drew. Their informative essays for this activity showed a lot of growth. We will go over them at Parent/Teacher Conferences at the end of the month. For our next story, "Around One Cactus," the students created fantastic desert sunsets. These are posted on my bulletin board and will be there for a few weeks. I hope you check them out!! They kids did a wonderful job. The field trip to Capitol Theatre was a success. I was sad that I missed out on all of the fun. The kids said they had a great time and enjoyed the dancing. I loved hearing about their favorite parts. I unfortunately do not have any pictures from the field trip :( I am looking forward to everything we have planned in February!! I promise I won't wait over a month to post again :) Porter was our Character Ed recipient for January: Sky observations, Mystery Reader, and desert sunsets: Comments are closed.

Ms. O I was born and raised in Utah. After I graduated from the University of Utah, I lived in California, Texas, Pennsylvania and Hawaii. I am happy to be back in Utah. I enjoy paddle boarding, cooking, hiking, skiing and running. I have two adorable kids who keep me pretty busy. I love Mexican food and coffee. This is my third year at Sunrise and I am so happy to be a part of the Sunrise community. Third grade is my favorite grade! Archives
