Well, we are almost to the halfway point of the year. We have had a great year so far and I look forward to what is in store for 2019. Our class has a lot of fun and interesting things planned and I think the kids will have a great rest of the year! The kids did a great job at our school Christmas assembly. The third grade sang Blitzen's Boogie. The students had fun and it was great seeing them perform! Last week, we had a very special visitor to our class. Shaylee's grandpa came to our class to tell us about Native American culture. He lived in Colorado and spent time with a Native American tribe in that part of the country. He also learned many different dances. He showed the class many different artifacts and demonstrated the Hoop Dance of the Taos Pueblo Tribe. He even taught the kids how to do some of the dance steps. I had an opportunity to go to Taos when I lived in El Paso and it took me back to that special place! Today we did a lesson on the Northern Lights. I showed the kids a time lapse video of the Aurora Borealis and we had a discussion about what causes this phenomenon. The students then created their own Northern Lights pictures. I love this time of year with my students. It makes me feel like a third grader again :) I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year! Ms. O Here are some pictures! Comments are closed.

Ms. O I was born and raised in Utah. After I graduated from the University of Utah, I lived in California, Texas, Pennsylvania and Hawaii. I am happy to be back in Utah. I enjoy paddle boarding, cooking, hiking, skiing and running. I have two adorable kids who keep me pretty busy. I love Mexican food and coffee. This is my third year at Sunrise and I am so happy to be a part of the Sunrise community. Third grade is my favorite grade! Archives
